What is the difference between a knowledge check and a quiz?

The knowledge check is for deepening understanding whereas a quiz is for evaluating comprehension.

Why is a Knowledge Check NOT a Quiz?

Click … Click …. Click

The sound of a plastic mouse feeding input to an e-learning course

It is the sound between mind and reality… between training and learning. And it lies between this man’s need to share his knowledge.

This is the dimension of learning. An area which we call the knowledge check.

(blows air into folded hands)

Different than a quiz, a knowledge check gives the learner an opportunity to further their understanding of what they just learned.

Whereas a quiz gives the learner the opportunity to demonstrate what they just learned.

A knowledge check is like asking a question of a teacher or a professor during a lecture and then you get feedback.

Whereas a quiz is a test where you ask the learner to demonstrate what they already know by providing the correct answer from a list of choices.

Knowledge Checks!

They’re out there waiting in the dimension of learning.

So, do you call quizzes knowledge checks? Do you confuse the two?

STOP!

Comment down below, and tell me if that term gets used interchangeably for you.

Peace
