How do you scout a location for a learning video?
Hi, I’m Chris Karel and I’m on a mission to help you make video for learning purposes!
A location scout is …
Physically going to a place before you press record.
This means you need to look at your space and make sure it will work. Don’t just whip out the camera and start recording – unless of course you are making marketing video.
As you scout, look for easy access to electricity
Listen to make sure it’s quiet
Note how private the area is. Will you be able to record without interruption? Or will you need to notify peeps that you are recording so they can Shush!
Finally, use those finger frames to make sure the background will look good.
Have you done a location scout for a learning video? What do you look for?
