Share Error-free Drafts – Part 3 of the Scriptwriter’s Mindset

Transcript

Share. Error-free.
Now you might be thinking that sounds counter-intuitive to “done is better than perfect.”
But when it comes to writing, what I mean by “share error-free” means that you need to write a lot in order to be great at writing scripts.
You need to go through the process of drafting, editing, revising, seeking feedback, taking that feedback, and incorporating those changes into your script so that every time you provide a version of that script for somebody to see, it should be error-free.
I use Grammarly as well as an individual to read any copy that I create. This way I have the spellcheck for Microsoft Word that I use. I have Grammarly that finds things that spellcheck doesn’t often have.
And then I have another individual’s eyes who successful already at writing or copywriting. And that all three of those together allow me to share error-free drafts with my clients when I write scripts for them.
The final note about sharing air. And this is an expectation more than anything, you should drive yourself to create content that is amazing. And I mean content that when you look at it like, Damn, that was great.
In order to get there, you have to strive for written content. That’s error-free, free of punctuation errors, and free of passive voice. It’s not supposed to be there, and certainly free of redundant phrases or prepositional statements that only extend what’s supposed to be said in the video.
So there it is. There you have it. Share error-free drafts. It’s part of the scriptwriter’s mindset.
