A community of practice Is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something and they want to learn how to do it better by regularly interacting with each other online or in person.

Once Upon a Time, back in the 1990s specifically,
At the Xerox corporation, customer service representatives at lunch.
CK: (off-camera – interrupts) Can we hurry this up?
UW: (pause and looks annoyed) Yesss.
They would talk about how to fix different problems that they encountered.
Eventually, Xerox saw the value of these interactions and created the Eureka project.
Thriving today, the Eureka project is a community of practice that has saved the company more than $100 million dollars in service costs.

CK: A community of practice has to have 3 elements
A domain which is the shared learning need or purpose
A community meaning people are bonded together through interaction in-person or online.
And a practice, where the members learn how to do things better.
