How To Find A Background When Making A Video

Let’s talk about finding the right background when you’re planning out your shot.

Now, notice I don’t have any stabilization. Different video.

Right now, we’re just trying to find a background. So first, let’s take a look at what’s behind me. Mirror, really bright, blowing everything out can see me. Doesn’t look good. We tilt this way. There’s open doors, open closets.

Mess doesn’t look good.

Tilt down. Oh, that looks really scary. We don’t want to do that.

If we tilt up. Mm. I can see. Ooh, somebody. Somebody’s losing their hair. And then if we tilt this way and we try to get a better angle. Ooh, there’s some color in the background.

But now our background looks nice. All I need to do is add some light right here.

Oop. I don’t quite like this thing coming out of my head, so I just turn a little bit.

Oh, now, Got a nice leading line. And if I step here, like, kind of like the way that’s looking. Oh, there’s a nice angled background.

I don’t even mind the hit over my shoulder. I just need a little bit of light.
